All of us (health journalists, editors in addition to industry employees) should apply best practices in writing press releases. We often ignore how critical they are for disseminating information to the media and public. Kuriya and colleagues conduct one of the first studies I've seen on the the quality of pharma company press releases. Fascinating, and adds to the growing evidence base on 1) quality of literature generated by commercially-interested sources and 2) mechanisms and quality of health reporting.
