The idea of testing in invertebrates a brain design feature that is quite complex (as interhemispheric memory transfer certainly is) and would not be at first sight supposed to exist in 'simpler' organisms is fascinating. I wonder whether the Authors agree on the fact that the surprising cognitive abilities of bees can be considered more genuinely comparable to those of vertebrates if now we know that some unpredicted neural engineering complexity is shared with those of vertebrates as well.
