For what it is worth coming from a non-specialist, I think you did a great job, not simply in terms of analyzing the potential for circular polarisation vision but in demonstrating its existence due to the physical response of the organ. a mode of awareness which relies upon a fairly fundamental aspect of our world -- but which until now was unknown and apparently thought unlikely. I too, would be interested in the attempt to detect this vision through behavioral analysis in addition to the physical analysis of the organ -- as these would seem two complementary methods of study. Finally, I appreciate the insight into what plausibly lead to the evolution of this capacity.
