Lindsay Young and colleagues studied Laysan albatrosses (Phoebastria immutabilis) from two distinct breeding colonies and found that differences in the foraging areas could explain differences in the plastic load of boluses regurgitated by chicks in the two colonies. The study, which was recently published in PLoS ONE, has been highlighted by Scientific American and CBC News.
