Competing Interests
The authors have read the journal's policy and have the following conflicts: the Department of Veterans Affairs and Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) own a technology used in this research study. AAV has stock options in Virogenomics/Artielle, a company that has licensed the technology and may have an interest in the results of this study. The Department of Veterans Affairs, OHSU, and JML, AAV, and MH have rights to royalties from the licensing agreement with Artielle. These potential conflicts of interest have been reviewed and managed by the Conflict of Interest Committees at the Portland VA Medical Center and OHSU.
