Overestimated Admixture

Posted by Italianthro on 02 Jan 2015 at 13:27 GMT

This study greatly overestimates African and Asian admixture in Italians because it uses such a low number of inferior markers (52 AIMs) instead of all genome-wide data. When Italians are tested using 291,184 SNPs they have almost no admixture at all. The uniparental data in the study confirms this and doesn't fit with the AIM results.
