closeFace recognition by computers

Would it be interesting to compare these results to results made by face recognition or comparison software? I am of the opinion that a computer never can do much better than a human in this matter. Am I wrong?

Hi Yoran, this is an important question. Although we did not compare human performance to computer performance here, the available data on this suggests that state-of-the-art algorithms slightly outperform the '"average"' human on these types of tasks (i.e. 1:1 verification). However, given that the individual differences that we and others have shown in human performance, it becomes important to ask if algorithms can outperform the '"best"' humans.
