Is language a characteristic influencing UPC?

Posted by FranceLegare on 13 Jul 2014 at 12:37 GMT

Thanks to the authors for another very insightful portrait of how science evolves. As I am not sure if "region of Scopus-listed address (North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, South America, Africa, Middle East, unknown)" can be used as a proxy to language, it would have been interesting to compare groups of authors identifiers in terms of language of publication as well as of first language of authors. This study makes a compelling argument for scientists to pay attention to an "uninterrupted, continuous presence" in the publication arena. However, for some, language will remain an issue.

Thanks again to the authors for their uninterrupted, continuous presence in "the improving research design standards" field.
