methylation sensitivity of BsiSI

Posted by BenSchulz on 29 Jan 2014 at 14:26 GMT

Do you have any reference for the complete methylation insensitivity of BsiSI?

According to the Restriction Enzyme Database (http://rebase.neb.com/) BsiSI does not cut if the two external cytosines of the CCGG-site are methylated (e.g. CHG-methylation at both strands). If BsiSI is actually methylation sensitive it is not suited to assess genetic diversity.
