CFS patients were not from a local outbreak.

The CFS XMRV study, Lombardi et al., mentioned by the authors did not test patient from an local outbreak. Only 25% of those from the study in question were from an outbreak, the remaining 75% came from across the USA, and Canada.

From the supplemental from Lombardi et al:
"Samples were selected from several regions of the United States where outbreaks of CFS had been documented (S2)."

If that information is incorrect, they should have fixed it in their paper.
