What about the gender reverse?

My wife of 36 years is a fast walker. She also had had many male admirers before I met her in college, including men ten inches taller than she. On one of our first dates, we were walking downtown together shopping when, all of a sudden, she stopped, looked at me, and said, "You're the first guy I ever dated who could keep up with me!" I have been trying to keep up ever since. I have no doubt that, at that single moment, she had made up her mind that she was going to marry me. Would the author please comment?
