microRNA involved???

Posted by patsch on 16 May 2013 at 08:12 GMT

Being only a science journalist, I'm really no specialist, so it's very likely I make a fool out of myself with this comment, but the paper immediately reminded me of “Liang H, Zen K, Zhang J, Zhang C, Chen X. New roles for microRNAs in cross-species communication. RNA Biology 2013; 10:367 - 370; PMID: 23364352; http://dx.doi.org/10.4161... " Could it be, that somehow specific microRNA from the Plasmodium wanders into Anopheles and "messes" with its genes related to the insects sens of smell?
