Please do you have any comments on the affinities of the specimen used for the drawing in Figure 2E (Friis et al 8107)?

Figure 2E (Friis et al. 8107) and Figure 2F (Friis 8505) are both from Ethiopia and seem morphologically disparate; how might such localised variation relate to the proposal of a north-south cline (in morphological variation) in S. campylacanthum sensu Knapp et al?
