HERV-K HML-2 Type I particles and HESN

Do we know if "blunting" or "immune quiescence" in the genital mucosa includes production of HERV-K HML-2 Type I particles? Recently Ormsby CE et al (PLoS August 2012) published HERV-K mRNA is inversely associated with adaptive immune activation in HIV patients, and Laderoute MP et al (AIDS November 2007) proposed HERV-K102 pol containing particles may be a potent protection mechanism against HIV through its foamy virus-like properties and mutual antagonism with HIV (and/or adaptive immunity).
