Sam68 and CIN85

After publication of this article the authors were informed that a previous study has reported strong evidence for an interaction between Sam68 and CIN85 (S. Havrylov et. al, Proteome Science 2009, 7:21).
We would like to express that we fully acknowledge the previous finding by S. Havrylov and colleagues suggesting Sam68 to be an interaction partner of CIN85. Whereas bioinformatic analysis provides strong indication of an interaction via CIN85 target sites in Sam68, the experimental design does not ultimately proove a binary interaction. Thus, our analysis adds to the observations by Havrylov and colleagues by prooving the binary interaction between the two proteins, thus confirming the inference from Havrylov's co-complex-purification procedure and target-site prediction that CIN85 and Sam68 are direct interaction partners.
