Systematic reviews and PLOS ONE

Regarding the research question of this article, PLOS ONE considers systematic reviews to be primary scientific research - and therefore in scope - providing "the methods ensure the comprehensive and unbiased sampling of existing literature" and if the review addresses "a clearly formulated question that uses explicit, systematic methods to identify, select, and critically appraise relevant research, and to collect and analyze data from the studies that are included in the review."
