Congrats to this interesting article. It clearly shows that drugs may accumulate in certain membranes and lead to physiological consequences possibly through secondary membrane mediated effects.
It would be interesting to know the membrane partitioning coefficients of sertraline in different lipid environments. Electrostatic interactions are important, but hydrophobic forces etc. as well. "All together" determine the location of the drug within the membrane.
Anyway it goes to show that direct drug-receptor interactions is not the last word in wisdom for drug development.
