Schizotypy, schizotypal personality disorder, schizophrenia

This report provides additional important information that supports empirically the substantive hypothesis that common genetic factors underlie ""both"" schizophrenia and schizotypal personality disorder most likely reflective of schizotypy (Lenzenweger, 2010). An important step in this continuing line of research will be to dissect the heterogeneity that is seen in both schizophrenia and schizotypic manifestations such as schizotypal personality disorder in search of discernible variants that share a common genetic architecture. This would be an ideal problem for the powerful class of analytic methods embodied in finite mixture modeling techniques.
