Iron is an element critically important for the survival of the intracellular bugs inside the hosts. The deciphering of mechanisms of iron transport thus has been a top priority area for the researchers all over the world. The work presented here with sound experimentation and novel liposomes based assays have provided the clue as to how various genes work in tandem to facilitate transport of iron. It is now possible to develop drugs targetting this important pathway... Indeed a thing to welcome especially for masses and drug developers.. and for all readers because its free available to read... thanks to open access
