closeFurther evidence for herpes simplex involvement in Alzheimer's disease

This work adds to accumulating evidence for a role of herpes simplex in Alzheimer's disease, as long advocated by Ruth Itzhaki's group. Alzheimer's disease plaques, as well as containing beta-amyloid, also contain a large number of other human proteins that the virus uses during its life cycle.

Hi Chris,
Thank you for the comment. I enjoyed reading your review of all the different proteins that are implicated both in HSV infections and in Alzheimer's disease. I will be at the International Herpesvirus workshop this summer and hope we may meet then.
