closeAcademic Editor's comments: Michael Frotscher

Academic Editor's comments (Michael Frotscher):
The authors have now provided a revised version of their manuscript and have responded to the reviewers' comments in a detailed cover letter. In the manuscript, they included the points of the referees by changing the Discussion. In my opinion, this is appropriate as some suggestions would go beyond the scope of the present study. I agree with the authors that their present study on the role of VLDLR and ApoER2 does not overlap with a recent paper by the Frotscher group (Hack et al., Development, 2007); the two studies rather supplement each other. That recent paper in Development studied the roles of ApoER2 and VLDLR in the development of neocortical lamination, while the present study addresses the functions of these reelin receptors in the dispersion of cerebellar Purkinje cells. In this context, that paper by Hack et al. is incorrectly cited on page 26, line 5 (it should read ref. 51, not 52).
