Different XMRV sequences targeted for amplification

My understaning from reading this study, the prior CFS/ XMRV study, and recent commentary is that the XMRV region targeted for amplification in this study is different from that targeted in the initial study. While using a different region for amplification may give another look at the situation, since this was a replication study, why was not the same XMRV region examined?
