Nice paper. I am not sure about the collagen comparisons. Isn't Schweitzer's work more convincing that it is animal collagen based on sequence data? The title of the paper you cited only referred to sequence regions that are homologous between the collagen like proteins in animals and this regard doesn't Schweitzer have more support for the claim of animal collagen. What are your thoughts.

We are not experts on the biochemistry that the Schweitzer team used to detect collagen. We are taking that data at face value as true and not arguing against their protein detections.
