Interaction between small-viral-RNA and streptococcal Metagenome.

Posted by fritze on 06 Oct 2007 at 11:43 GMT

Dear Sir,

the interaction between Picorna (common cold) and Streptococci is well known in praxis.

Until now I understood the viral infection as door-opener of bacterial superinfection.

But could it be possible, that the viral RNA (of Picorna, Influenza or even Hantaa) is incorporated into the Streptococcus Metagenome as a ICE?

1988 and 1996 I observed a resurgence of post-streptococcal-reactive diseases in Göttingen.
Could this be induced by such RNA lateral gene transfer?

Best wishes

Sincerely Yours
