This is a good detailed entirely descriptive paper of the introduced plants in the major conurbation on Isabela Island. The inventory provides important baseline data of potential future invasive plants and identifies specific species that need to be eradicated. The paper is non-controversial and of very specific local interest, although it provides a good case study of how the problem of introduced species can potentially be tackled by early identification and eradication. Such studies also increase the locals’ appreciation of the conservation problem, which may contribute to its solution.
