closethe different effect of flaxseed to T2D patients and healthy people?

This is a pretty good trial, and it reveals the trustful physiological role of flaxseed-derived lignan supplement in Type 2 diabetic patients.
Reading this clearly presented paper, I am very curious about one issue, was the role of flaxseed in T2D patients presented in the article indeed restricted to T2D patients, or it is a rather common effect to all kinds of people, including T2D and healthy people?
By the way, considering the good effect of flaxseed, I would be glad to be volunteer as a healthy candidate, ^_^

Thank you very much for your interests and your courage to be a volunteer.
As presented in the paper, lignan has the moderate effects on glycemic control. The results were not restricted to T2D patients. The healthy people can also benefit from phytoestrogen consumption. In fact, there are several studies using phytoestrogen (mostly isoflavones) in healthy people.
We suggested to use whole flaxseed or defatted flaxseed, which was studied to have lipid-lowering effects and be beneficial for CVD and cancer prevention. Also more consumption of soy-products and sesame available in markets could also be beneficial.
