where is the locus of plasticity?

Presuming the results are not due to criterion shifts (see other discussions), the improvement in CFF, and its longevity of at least one year, is very interesting. The authors suggest that the area changing due to the training is MT. As the authors undoubtedly know but some readers might not, this could be investigated by testing whether the improvement generalizes from one eye to the other (the MT theory predicts it would), or from one region of the retina to another (the MT theory predicts it wouldn't, if the regions were separated by greater than the size of MT receptive fields.
