The author has provided the following updates for Figure 12. An updated version of this figure is available for download here:

Due to a software error, Figure 12 incorrectly portrayed the data it was meant to display.

In the update version, Figure E12 shows the distribution of reorientation angle, β. After stopping, the fly showed a preference to either continue in the same direction, or walk in the opposite direction (suggested by the peaks in the distribution near 0° and ±180 degrees). The width of the distributions around zero are quite wide and are perhaps multimodal, although this is difficult to ascertain due to the small number of statistics. Bin size: 5 degrees.
