Using gene chips to measure TCR diversity

Posted by pbaum on 11 Jan 2007 at 02:07 GMT

This paper demonstrates a creative way to get around the fundamental problem of using gene chips to measure TCR diversity--there are too many possible TCR rearrangements to ever spot them all on a chip!

I was hoping that the authors could comment on another article describing a different way of using gene chips to measure TCR diversity.

The Ogle paper presents a very simple experimental approach which this group validated and then used in subsequent papers, but I must admit that it surprised me that their method worked! The approach described in this paper, by contrast, seems more difficult, but I have a much easier time understanding why it works.
