I was impressed by this manuscript on a number of levels:

1) "Organotins are among the most toxic and widely distributed environmental chemicals"

says it all in terms of its relevance and scope of interest. It is broad and far ranging and should draw the attention of everyone who enjoys drinking out of PVC water carrying vessels....

2) The scope of the study behind the manuscript was broad without losing sight of the goal or attention to detail. The impact and value of this paper was improved because of the authors ability to put together a coherent account of a study that made good use of both experimental and in silica resources at their disposal.

3) The authors were very responsive to the referee's and editors comments, even though though these were already quite positive.
