Lack of context sensivity in autism

Posted by PeterPrudon on 16 Mar 2013 at 12:13 GMT

It may interest you that Peter Vermeulen (Belgium) arrived at similar conclusions with respect to autism: Autistic persons are seriously hampered in social judgment if that depends on the use of implicit context. He bases his conclusions on a wealth of research findings, including those of himself and his collaborators. Moreover, he shows that it is not only social judgment which is hampered by lack of sensitivity to implicit context, but any judgment and perception as soon as it depends on context.
