Erratum - a message from the co-authors

Two of the formulae that appear in the published article contain typographical errors.

These DO NOT affect the results, discussion or any other element of the report.

The correct formulae are as follows:

Total whips 400 to finish = 4.47 + 0.456 x (Total # Starters) - 0.397x (Placing at 400m)

Odds of a Place-123 at the finish = 6.232 x 0.05068 [to the power of "Place at 200m"] x 6.466 [to the power of "Place at 400m]
