HPV and p53 degradation

We try and evaluate the generalizability of HPVE6 induced degradation of p53 by a large spectrum of HPV types representative of the major groups within the AlphaPV genera. We show a related spectrum possess this phenotype, not completely correlated with cancer risk. Our key point is to impart an appreciation for the evolutionary forces driving HPV evolution and pathogenecity. This is only the beginning . . .
