This paper is a straightforward test of a novel hypothesis that bats avoid radar installations. The results are reasonably convincing that bats do avoid radar stations and so the use of high EMF fields might be applicable to mitigating the problem of bat collisions with wind turbines. Overall the paper is well done and scientifically sound, and may well turn out to be an important applied paper. Hopefully the paper will act as the necessary spur for experimental work to prove that careful siting of EMF sources alongside wind turbines can reduce bat mortality.
