This manuscript describes the use of AGO2 immunoprecipitation studies to aid the identification of miRNA targets. Similar approaches in mammalian and fly cells have recently been reported. However, the analysis of the data presented here go beyond what has previously been described. The experimental setup and data analysis are solid. It would have been interesting to compare the data obtained in this study with work describing the analysis of total mRNA levels in cell after miR-1 or miR-124 overexpression (Lim et al, Nature 2005).
I strongly recommend publication.
