Have neural tube defect rates increased?

Very interesting large study. In Wales too, there is limited interest in giving preconceptual care which should include advice on folic acid usage. In the time frame reviewed, have the authors access to congenital anomaly data of sufficiently good quality to make a comment on the rates of neural tube defects in these areas?

Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately we do not have data on neural tube defect pregnancies in the women in our study as there were no congenital anomaly registers in the areas covered by our study
