(c) previous experience of at least one cannabis withdrawal symptom

I'm curious to understand the purpose of the following inclusion criteria?

(c) previous experience of at least one cannabis withdrawal symptom

Doesn't this needlessly limit the cross section of users? It seems like it would introduce a bias toward selecting for subjects who are prone to certain withdrawal behaviors that are consistent with the hypothesis. Is there a good reason to include this selection criteria that I am not aware of?

Hi, You are absolutely right, it does restrict the sample. But not needlessly. This is a study characterizing cannabis withdrawal. There would be very little point in gathering data from cannabis smokers who don't experience any withdrawal. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you might be getting at the cross sectional prevalence of cannabis withdrawal in ALL cannabis smokers? That would be an epidemiological prevalence study, which is quite different to this type of focused experimental investigation.
